A sure-shot way to evaluate a stock is to compare it to its peers. The method is simple- choose one financial ratio (P/E, D/E, RoE, among others). It would help if you found the ratio for the company in which you are interested. Then you could prepare a list of all the companies in the same space in that sector.
Components of P/E ratio
The P/E for a stock is computed by dividing the price of a stock (the "P") by the company's annual earnings per share (the "E"). If a stock is trading at $20 per share and its earnings per share are $1, then the stock has a P/E of 20 ($20/$1).
One popular method is the 2% Rule, which means you never put more than 2% of your account equity at risk (Table 1). For example, if you are trading a $50,000 account, and you choose a risk management stop loss of 2%, you could risk up to $1,000 on any given trade.
Relative Strength Line Introduction The script adds a line/candlestick to your charts that shows how well a stock is acting relative to the Index. We call this Relative Strength Line. Relative Strength ( RS ) separates leading stocks from laggards.
The Comparative relative strength indicator is simply a ratio that is calculated by dividing the price of one security or market index by the price of another security or market index. The resulting value indicates the relative performance of the two securities or markets.
Bollinger Bands is also one of the best and most used indicators in TradingView. It is a useful tool in technical analysis that follows the movement of the price of a stock or market index and uses the standard deviation to tell the volatility of the stock or the market index.
Access Strategy Tester: Located at the bottom of your chart. It will summarize the strategy's performance based on historical data. Review Results: The Strategy Tester will display various metrics like Total Net Profit, Max Drawdown, Percentage of Profitable Trades, and more.
What is the popular TradingView indicator?
The CARNAC Elasticity Indicator (EI) is a technical analysis tool designed for traders and investors using TradingView. It calculates the percentage deviation of the current price from an Exponential Moving Average (EMA) and helps traders identify potential overbought and oversold conditions in a financial instrument.
Two Pairs
When comparing hands with two pairs, the hand with the highest pair wins, irrespective of the rank of the other cards - so J-J-2-2-4 beats 10-10-9-9-8 because the jacks beat the tens. If the higher pairs are equal, the lower pairs are compared, so that for example 8-8-6-6-3 beats 8-8-5-5-K.
If both have the same high pair, whoever has the highest second pair. If both pairs are the same, whoever has the highest unpaired card. if that card is also the same, then the hand is a draw and the pot is split evenly. Suit is never a factor when comparing hand strength.
We can simply use the Equal to(==)comparison operator to check if two pairs are equal or not. For The two given pairs say pair1 and pair2, the Equal to(==) operator compares the “first value and second value of those two pairs i.e. if pair1. first is equal to pair2.
One of the most common methods of analyzing stocks is to look at the P/E ratio, which compares a company's current stock price to its earnings per share. P/E is found by dividing the price of one share of a stock by its EPS. Generally, a lower P/E ratio is a good sign.
There are a few aspects to consider when you wish to determine whether a share is worth investing in. The company's fundamentals: Research the company's performance in the last five years, including figures like earnings per share, price to book ratio, price to earnings ratio, dividend, return on equity, etc.
Over the decades, Buffett has refined a holistic approach to assessing a company—looking not just at earnings, but its overall health, its deficiencies as well as its strengths. He focuses more on a company's characteristics and less on its stock price, waiting to buy only when the cost seems reasonable.

Typically, the average P/E ratio is around 20 to 25. Anything below that would be considered a good price-to-earnings ratio, whereas anything above that would be a worse P/E ratio.
This ratio is used to assess the current market price against the company's book value (total assets minus liabilities, divided by number of shares issued). To calculate it, divide the market price per share by the book value per share. A stock could be overvalued if the P/B ratio is higher than 1.
What is No 1 rule of trading?
Rule 1: Always Use a Trading Plan
You need a trading plan because it can assist you with making coherent trading decisions and define the boundaries of your optimal trade. A decent trading plan will assist you with avoiding making passionate decisions without giving it much thought.
The 90/10 rule in investing is a comment made by Warren Buffett regarding asset allocation. The rule stipulates investing 90% of one's investment capital toward low-cost stock-based index funds and the remainder 10% to short-term government bonds.
Always sell a stock it if falls 7%-8% below what you paid for it. This basic principle helps you always cap your potential downside. If you're following rules for how to buy stocks and a stock you own drops 7% to 8% from what you paid for it, something is wrong.
RSI moves up and down (oscillates) between ZERO and 100. Generally RSI above 70 is considered overbought and below 30 is considered oversold. Some traders may use a setting of 20 and 80 for oversold and overbought conditions respectively.
The True Strength Index indicator is a momentum oscillator designed to detect, confirm or visualize the strength of a trend. It does this by indicating potential trends and trend changes through crossovers while fluctuating between positive and negative territory.
