Join us for a webinar on May 9 at 2 p.m. ET for a discussion about how to make Career Everywhere a reality on campus. Moderator Meredith Metsker (host of the Career Everywhere podcast) and panelists Nancy Bilmes of the University of Connecticut, Christian Garcia of the University of Miami, and Mike Summers of Lafayette College will discuss how all three institutions have implemented Career Everywhere on their campuses. 🔷 The University of Miami has found creative ways to engage faculty and staff (including a faculty toolkit, a dedicated webpage, and an annual awards ceremony) and embedded live RSS job feeds into every academic department website. 🔷 The University of Connecticut has built one of the most robust and successfulCareer Champion programsin the country, with over 700 faculty, staff, alumni, and employer participants. 🔷 Lafayette College holds networking opportunities and programming that focus on helping students build social capital, aligns all career counselors to majors and liaises with faculty to create partnerships, uses their website to make career resources available 24/7, and more. We’ll dig into these strategies and more in our session so everyone walks away with tangible ideas on how they can bring Career Everywhere to their campus. 🔶 Note: This webinar will be hosted in theCareer Everywhere community. To register for the webinar, you’ll first need to join the community.Learn more and register: https://lnkd.in/gKdVrH2m#CareerEverywhere #careerservices #highereducation #careercenter #careerdevelopment #studentsuccess

University Recruiting SME | Independent consultant to employers hiring early talent | Provider of unbiased student recruiting research

It’s three years ago this month that I joined forces with Matthew Brink, Kathleen Schaum and J. Seldric Blocker, MHR, PHR to discuss the findings and implications of the NACE research project ‘Succeeding in the New Normal: Student Attitudes and Effective Virtual Recruiting’ [I’ll drop the link in Comments].▶ As we continue to chart the way forward after more twists and turns than we could ever have imagined in early 2021, this much is clear: students overwhelmingly prefer in-person, on-campus interaction. SRG’s recently completed fall research project ‘Recruiting Engagement: Expectations and Experiences’ is loaded with compelling data in support of that conclusion.▶ It’s also clear that, as we hear from many corners, ‘hybrid is here to stay’, so my spring 2024 project is ‘IMPACT of Virtual Recruiting on the Job Search’ – because although much has changed since 2021, most of what students valued pre-COVID has not. And that has significant implications for early talent recruiting EXECUTION, virtual and hybrid – as well as in-person on-campus.👉 For those career center leaders with an interest in learning more about the project, but not on distribution for the one-pager I recently sent out to prior university sponsors, just shoot me a DM. Happy to provide details!

Attention #HigherEducation folks – interested in learning more about how you can grow your alumni career services and engagement efforts? Then you should check out the inaugural Alumni Career Services Network (ACSN) white paper: Leveraging Expertise to Prepare Alumni for Tomorrow’s Workforce. It captures the real-time conversations we’re having in the alumni career engagement field, with over 50 contributors weighing in on five of the top questions facing practitioners: 👉 How can we best prepare alumni to pivot to meet the needs of tomorrow’s workforce?👉 What are the best practices for maximizing the impact of alumni mentoring platforms?👉 What are the best strategies for raising awareness and engaging our constituents with our programming?👉 What do alumni want? The most (or least) successful programs happening in our industry?👉 How can we continue to grow as alumni career engagement practitioners as we help others climb? Link to the article is in my first comment. Major kudos to Kioshana LaCount Burrell, MBA who shepherded this project and who asked me to help compile the final paper, and to the 50+ contributors who shared their expertise!#alumniengagement #alumnirelations #alumnicareerservices #careerservices #careerdevelopment
