An exciting Senior Manager, Post-Mortem and Specials Reviews Audit job has just become available in a reputable institution in Klang Valley. This is a role for an auditor who is looking for an exciting opportunity to be a part of the changing landscape in the financial services industry.
About the Senior Manager, Post-Mortem and Specials Reviews Audit role:In this business critical role, you will be leading and conducting Post-Mortem and Special Reviews of the Bank’s impaired financing (NPF) and problem credits.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in overall completion of Post-Mortem Credit Review and other special reviews requested by the Management/ Board.
Participate in reviewing and providing feedback on credit policies and procedures and other consultancy services requested by the Management/Board.
To lead/ perform the credit post-mortem/ investigation/ special review accounts turned NPF within 2 years from the date of disbursem*nt, as well as special review of other NPF/ problem accounts.
Prepare review planning/ programme/ strategy, prior to commencement of the reviews.
To update the credit post-mortem/ investigation/ special review programme as and when required; and guide junior team member(s)
Conduct comprehensive reviews, root-cause analysis and identification of credit weaknesses/ issues that contributed to the impaired status of the accounts, as well as non-compliance with any policies, guidelines and procedures. At minimum, the reviews should cover the followings (where applicable):
customer's financial strength/ cashflow/ payment capacity and terms and conditions at the point of origination/ approval
adequacy/ accuracy of credit risk disclosures and its mitigation, to facilitate well informed and prudent credit decision
effectiveness of the structure, term and condition proposed for the credit facility
credit proposal and decision were in line with the Bank’s RAC, Credit Policy and guidelines and regulatory requirements
disbursem*nt in accordance with the terms and conditions of approval
collateral pledged in accordance with market value and formal valuation.
Security documents are intact. Upliftment or discharged of any security were in compliance with term/ conditions and duly approved by relevant credit authority
effectiveness and timeliness of credit review/ monitoring, especially project financing
credit personnel exercised highest standard of due-care, diligence and acted ethically in protecting the best interest of the Bank
Determine any potential fraud (internal/ external) that lead to the accounts turned NPF/ problematic.
Provide lesson learnt/ recommendation (1) in improving the Bank’s end-to-end credit risk management processes so as to prevent past mistakes/ errors/ gaps, (2) ascertain the needs for upskilling credit personnel, (3) improvement of credit culture and (4) accountability/ consequence management actions arising from the credit personnel’s negligence/ lack of due-care and diligence/ fraud
To succeed in the Senior Manager, Post-Mortem and Specials Reviews Audit role, you will need to prepare post mortem review and specials review reports and present to Management/BAC/other Board Committees.
Key Requirements
Extensive experience in conducting Credit Special Review, PMR or investigation of complex credit cases/ portfolio.
Extensive knowledge on techniques, methodology and entire processes of ‘investigative’ credit review and consequence management procedures
Degree in Finance/ Banking/ Accountancy/ Business Studies/ Administration/ Management/ Statistic/ Economics/ Legal or any related disciplines
Preferably with AICB’s Professional Credit Certification (i.e. PCC/ BCP/ CCP/ CFE/ CB/ CBA)
More than 10 years experience in credit investigation/ post-mortem/ special review and/or credit audit works involving complex corporate credit cases/ portfolio;
Minimum 5 years as PMR/audit project team leader.
